My thoughts on Umang's Collegephobia

My friend Umang whom is a junior at my school, the Linworth Alternative Program recently wrote a blog he called Collegephobia which you can read at http://umangp.blogspot.com/. The blog talked about how college admissions way of choosing students into their college is very, i'll just say "messed up," and that the way most colleges require SAT and ACT scores and take these scores into huge consideration in deciding who gets in or not, in my opinion is not an accurate way to decide whom the best students in the applicant pool are.
I mean yesterday I was watching a Fresh Prince of BelAir episode on NickatNite and they showed an episode of how Will and Carleton both individually (at different times) were being interviewed by Princeton. Now, anyone who has seen Fresh Prince knows that Carleton was always the one with good test scores and excellent grades, while Will on the other hand is the "slacker" who is a fresh breath of air from the rough areas of Philly and is a kid who likes to party. But during the interview with the Princeton man, Will was just himself. He told the Princeton man what he liked to do, who he was and just about his life in general and the Princeton man ended up liking him and offered him a spot at Princeton the following year. Carleton on the other hand, with great scores came in to the interview, not acting like himself as he would normally, but as Will (who he had heard was accepted into Princeton.) Carleton dressed oddly and talked funny and even made a threat to the Princeton man himself, who ended up calling Carleton a psycho.
The reason I brought this up is, I think the best way of getting to a good college and a college you might enjoy is not all about great test scores, but having a great personality and being a good people person and most importantly just be who you are and if they deny you from the college that you've dreamt of, well dreams change so dont be discouraged because there will be a college out there that fits you entirely in every sense.
Also I wanted to make a point to people who decide who gets in a college or denied from a college, that maybe looking into people's personalities a little more rather than just deciding there acceptees mainly from test scores, you may get the truly better person as well as student into your college. Because as Umang said, really anyone can train enough for SAT's or ACT's to do very well on it.
Also maybe if you would look more into people's personalities, like I said previously, you might be able to avoid accepting violent individuals, like Carleton during his interview with the Princeton man or like the students who started all of these shootings at colleges like NIU, UNC and VT. Because I wonder if they scored very highly on their test scores and if they did that was probably a good reason to why they were accepted into these schools, but now look what happened in result, many unfortunate deaths of innocent students.
