While reading and watching Kathryn's post (which you can find at http://classickk.blogspot.com/) on a movie dealing with racism and it's evil it reminded me of a movie I recently saw in my US History Class called Sakko and Vanzetti. This movie dealt with the cruel and unfair trial the anarchist immigrants from Italy Sakko and Vanzetti had to deal with after being charged with robbery and murder at a shoe factory in a place called South Braintree (a suburb outside of Boston) during the period of the Palmer raids.
The one thing about these raids that outraged me that they were cruel unconstitutional acts that I believe were unecessary and just caused more conflict among people in our country. The other thing that outraged me about the movie Sakko and Vanzetti was how the anti-immigrant, racist, anti- anything other than belief in democracy America had at the time and more accurately the northeast of the country had at the time was just extremely outrageous. The thing was how Americans were being anti-immigrant and saying bad things about immigrants when themselves and their ancestors were once immigrants to the USA.
This deals with Katryn's blog I believe because it shows how people who are accused just because of their heritage, race or something they really can't control are truly innocent.
Always remember the golden rule! Treat others the way you want to be treated!
